It’s Prop Week people!
Not that I’m tempting fate, but are you ready for trips and slips. These guys have only just learned to skate and to throw a chair or a brolly into the mix is nothing short of car crash TV. Who will fly and who will fall? It’s all or nothing…

SHOW STARTS:

So who’s got what?
Danniella has the chair, Hayley the brolly, Gary the cane, Danny the hat and Kieron has a mic stand no less!

We kick things off with Jayne and Chris showing us how it’s done. They perform a country themed routine to A Little Less Conversation and they work the cowboy hats like pros! I love the heel start and the bareback ridealong, so original! Not to take anything away from the Olympic champs, but you get the feeling that they’re not as keen performing with props either. It’s a cracking performance but you can tell they are concentrating far more than usual.

The skaters are introduced and with the office chair as her prop, it looks like Danniella will be playing the saucy secretary tonight. Is it just me or does Kieron Richardson seem to be changing from boy to man before our eyes.

Judges: What the hell is Jason wearing? LOL!
Head Judge Robin Cousins is hoping the skaters will stay in character and interact well with both their partner and prop… That’s what’s going to land you with top marks tonight peeps.

So who’s first?

Gary Lucy opens his prop box to discover the cane. Before you can say cheerleader, he’s dropping it and beating the ice in rage! Fingers crossed he’s had time to rehearse…

Gary and Maria perform to Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick and it’s a funky up beat routine with tons of cane-tastic tricks. I particularly liked the dual throws and the pull through with the canes – tricky stuff and no falls.

They thread the eye of the needle, perform a teapot, Gary treats us to a one footed spin (last week’s required element) and Maria’s up for a shoulder sit with back lay-over.

22 points

Robin Cousins is impressed that Gary saved himself from a trip and then went straight into a jump. Jason commends Gary for incorporating last week’s required element into the routine to show them that he can do it. "You’ve upped your game this week!"

Danniella Westbrook takes to the ice and (wow!) there’s wolf whistles all round as she really looks the part as the sexy secretary. Dannii and Matthew perform to She’s Got The Look and you can see that she’s feeling the pressure after two weeks in the skate-off.

Deep breath and they’re off…
Excellent! The lift-off the chair to float spin was sensational and considering she fell face first into the ice just a few days ago, she’s nailed it.

There’s a fairground waltzer, a shoulder sit with hip pose, drags and a spiral with chair.

5.5’s across the board!
27.5 and she’s pleased as punch.

Emma Bunton is overjoyed. "I’m so excited I can’t tell you. How much did you love that? This is only the second time I’ve got goosebumps, the sexy, confident Danni is back!"

Head Judge Robin is gushing, "Even when you were seated in the chair, your toes were pointed and you ept in character. You took care of every detail of your body be it on the ice or on the chair – it was great."

Karen Barber nods, "I’ve watched that routine grow all week. Your acting skills made it."

I’m interested to see what Kieron is going to do with this microphone! He and Brianne perform to The Great Pretender and although it has punch, there’s not as much content as I’d have liked. There seemed to be a lot of holding it and skating about…

There are box steps around the mic, a death spiral, crossovers, (oooh!) I loved the part-axel into knee slide – Great tricks but I’d have liked more use of the prop. Eek! The mic clocks him in the face as it bounces back at the end… He covered it well.

23 points

Nicky thought it was a strong performance but asked that Kieron be a little more careful when landing his partner from the lifts. He thought he used the prop well and held character but didn’t have the content that Gary did.

What’s up with Jason Gardiner tonight? More compliments… "It was full on for you, you really turned it up a notch tonight. I’d have liked to see more with the prop, you had to hold it with both hands a lot of the time but that’s not your fauls. It was a solid performance."

It’s Tamaddon Time!
Hayley’s taken a lot of flack the past few days (scroll down to read more) which is unjustified when she gave such an amazing performance last week. She’s got a lot to live up to this time around and it’s a whole new ball game when you throw in a prop. Let’s see what she comes up with…

Hayley and Dan perform to Raindrops Keep Falling On my Head and it’s a warm, endearing routine with a romantic twist. There are drags, a spinning layout, an upside down sash and an amazing standing counter-balance… she opens the brolly during the pose – charming and stunning.

26.5 points
Danniella pipped her to the top tonight!

Karen Barber knows the pressure Hayley’s been under. "Last week was a tough act to follow and this was a whole different ball game."

Emma was left wanting, "It was seamless, beautiful… and you had so much control over the prop but there was something missing. I didn’t fell it, it just wasn’t spectacular tonight."

Robin was looking for something more too. "I gave you the extra point as the skating was fanstastic but I would have loved more tension. It was a bit ‘nice’ for me tonight."

Yeah whatever, I think she’s done enough don’t you? I did prefer Danni’s performance tonight though.

Finally, we have Danny and his little red bowler hat. He anf Frankie perform to It’s All About You and I have to say, I love the personality of the piece. It’s comedic but heartfelt as well as a little cheeky… almost a fairgroung teenage romance – picture postcard stuff. I loved the smooch behind the hat.

There’s a Torville and Dean see-saw lift, a roll up, a cartwheel with hat pick-up, hat catches mid skate and crossovers. For the improvement in skating and holding such a quirky character throughout, he has to score highly.

25.5 points!
Bless Danny he’s over the moon! He nearly fell over when he got a 5.5.

Emma is so happy for him. "You can see you are enjoying it, tonight you were funny and cute and last week you acted it too. You’ve raised your game and I think you had the hardest job tonight. The hat is probably the most difficult to use."

Nicky enjoyed it. "The skating is much better and the flow is improved. If you can take an extra step before your lifts instead of takingyour time and hesitating that will work better for you."

It’s so close tonight…
Who would you place in the bottom two?

Click here to leave your views..

I think that Daniella’s acting skills gave her the edge tonight. The routine was sexy and seamless, she deserves the top spot. I agree with Robin that Hayley’s was a little too sickly sweet – loved her last week though. I think Keiron could end up in the bottom two, not that any of them deserve to but he had a naff prop and the routine was static.

Get voting and I’ll see you back here for the skate off…

THE SKATE OFF!

Through to next week are…

Danniella and Matthew
Hayley and Dan
… and Gary and Maria.

Danny and Kieron must skate again. Kieron could go through on use of the prop or Danny on content, it’s a tough call this one.

Click here to leave your views..

Once again, Kieron rises to the occasion and he improves in both movement and character. He also manages to avoid being smacked in the face this time – Ouch!

Danny tries his best but sadly the hat sticks to Frankie’s blade and a catch is missed. Frankie also fluffs the hat grab during the cartwheel. The pair look dejected, I think they know what those kind of mistakes can mean… As the pro skater Frankie looks visibly annoyed with herself.

Much as I think Danny’s performance was packed with personality, I hope Kieron goes through.

Karen votes for Danny, but the other judges reward Kieron for his lack of errors and is in the final four.

Danny is humble in defeat and a little tearful: "It’s been a great experience and I’ve met some great people, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done – guys I wish you all the best. Frankie has been amazing she’s got me through so much…"

Did the right man go?

  1. lisa says:

Danniella may give a good performance but she doesn\’t actually skate much at all. She basically gets carried round the ice by her partner but is good at \’dancing\’ with her arms and gives the performance an actress should be capable of giving. All the others are now skating properly. She should\’ve gone last week.

  2. Unknown says:

Couldn\’t agree more Lisa, how Hayley could get a lower mark than Daniella is beyond me, they are marking her for her acting…Duh ! she\’s an actress, this isn\’t acting on ice (ok, she\’d win that one) its dancing and Hayley\’s performance was fantastic, worthy of a professional.

  3. Clare says:

I think the only \’fix\’ is relating to Danniella – just sits in a chair for all but 20 seconds of the routine (and most of that is filled with Matt spinning her in the air) and gets 5.5s????????!!!! Hmmmm, the audience has seen that she\’s got away with doing absolutely nothing every week and put her in the bottom 2 and yet the judges kept saving her. Now, to try to keep her away from the bottom 2 this week they falsely inflate her scores! Come on people, see what\’s going on! She was sitting in a chair for God\’s sake!

  4. emma says:

Hayley skated alot more than daniella did – she just sat in the chair nearly the whole time and got a better score for it?

  5. judy says:

I don\’t think Karen should be a judge, she seems to base her marks on what she has seen all week when she has been coaching them, and not on the performance that we all see on a Sunday night.

  6. doreen says:

Emma Bunton likes Daniella so she she scores Hayley down….how is she a judge anyway????

  7. Selena says:

I really think that Daniella\’s acting skills gave her the edge tonight… The routine was sexy and seamless, have to hand it to her. I agree with Robin that Hayley\’s was a little too sickly sweet. Loved her last week though. I think Keiron could end up in the bottom two tonight – not that any of them deserve to, but he had a naff prop and the routine just didn\’t have as much to it.

  8. tcm says:

Hi all. They all did so well tonight, it\’s going to be so tight. I would guess Gary and Kieron could be in the skate-off

  9. Sophie says:

Can see Hayley\’s a good skater, just can\’t warm to her and tonight her fake shock when she saw her marks, soooo funny. You could tell she was gutted really that they weren\’t as good as last week!

  10. Nicola says:

have to agree with those who say daniella doesn\’t skate much. hayley\’s skating was far better. She can only sate to what she was given. daniella spent most of the time in the chair. she should have gone last week. I really dont like kieron either something about him just makes me shudder….not in a good way. HAYLEY TO WIN

  11. Bernie says:

Gary and one of the other lads in the skate-off I\’d say. Hayley was unfortunate with the marks. Not saying there should have been a 6.0, but she was definitely the equal of Daniella (who was great by the way, so I\’m not knocking her). Just because it was almost the opposite in power to last week didn\’t mean there wasn\’t some terrific skating going on. In fact, it\’s a credit to Hayley that she could deliver soft and sweet, completely at the other end of the scale from pace and power. Cannot agree with Judy re: Karen\’s judging. She\’ll take marks off for technical flaws and for lapses in presentation as much as any other judge. Meanwhile, quite enjoying the agree/disagree double act that Nicky and Jason are becoming.

  12. Linda says:

Agree with Lisa Daniella is not skating just being carried arouind she hardly ever lets go of Matt

  13. Chris says:

Does anyone else think that the judges must be drinking more than herbal tea for them to give Daniella 5.5s, her skates only touched the ice twice, everyone else actually skates on their own without holding on for dear life. And as for Emma Bunting commenting on dancing energy for various skaters, Daniella didn`t do any skating on her own unlike ALL the others.

  14. Selena says:

Granted, that\’s a good point. Daniella is carried a lot – I\’d like to see her skate alone. Remember how lost Bonnie Langford was the first week she tried – LOL!

  15. Fay says:

Sorry, but I agree with the comments about Danniella not skating on her own. Lovely routine to watch this week but her skating isn\’t in the same league as the others. Time to go.

  16. Selena says:

I think it could be Kieron and Danny.. or maybe even Gary LIL..

  17. LIL says:

Im so glad Daniella had a high mark after a fortnight of being in the bottom 2 yeah!. She really deserved that, I hope that she can keep that top position!? Im actually shocked that she\’s beaten Hayley by 1 point. I just hope this doesn\’t mean a Hayley/Daniella bottom 2 now that would be a disaster for the show! I hope Daniella and Hayley make the finalIm so glad it does actually really seem like the competition has heated up at last and someone has overtaken Hayley – although I would love Hayley to win,! in a competition we need a bit of a variety it gets boring wen the same one is top every week at last there is a bit of variety. who do you think would be in the bottom 2 peeps? I hope it\’s not Daniella and Hayley ? I must say was a little surprised that Danniella had scored so high but glad , well no there wasnt a lot of solo work but still she worked with what Torvill and Dean gave and for that she should be appaluded well done. Still Hayley/Daniella to win.

  18. siobhan says:

The fix claims are all just sour grapes – Hayley\’s Slumdog Millionaire set was amazing and she more than deserved her score. I rewound it and watched it again I was so impressed, it is by far the best routine ever in Dancing on Ice!!!!

  19. shaz says:

it really has to be a fix, from the beginning i have hardly seen daniella dance on her own, when is she ever going to let go of her partner, she had no right to make it through last week.

  20. ian says:

hayleys through, so there\’s the winner folks!!

  21. lynne says:

could it be gary out, dubious scoring all round, still hayley should win, best skater.

  22. ian says:

    gary to stay

  23. Eve says:

OMG thought it was Gary to go hes not that good, well looks like poor Danny is gone 😦

  24. Eve says:

hay no fair it was Frankies fault not Danny\’s seeeeeeeeesh

  25. maz says:

Inconsistent judging again, last week Mikey did the required element but Daniella got let off for not doing it. This week Danny by far better but got booted for not doing it……. Sing off the same hymn sheet judges its turning into a farce!

  26. emma says:

    Gary to win!! 🙂

  27. siobhan says:

Laast week Robin sent Mikey home despite a perfect required element because he said \’ a perfect required element does not a great performance make\’ even though Mikey\’s required element was the better of the two, but this week he sent home Danny because he made a mistake in the required element, whrer is the consistancy here??????????????????? Have your reasons for your decisions but at least be consistent otherwise it looks like you have favourites which is ot allowed.

  28. doreen says:

Dannella has to go cos she cant skate

  29. Bernie says:

In answer to Siobhan and Maz, I\’d say that the level of Danny\’s and Kieran\’s performances was very similar (more so in the skate-off as Kieran managed to go up a notch), so the loss of control of the prop was crucial. The difference in the whole of Daniella\’s performance last week and that of Mikey was much, much greater, hence the \’required element\’ being less important to the casting vote from Robin. Gary can certainly consider himself lucky. He needs to throw himself into the performance like Danny and Kieran did.

  30. raymond says:

why are the judges doing there level best to keepdaniella westbrook in, she clearly cannot skate , this week she was just pushed around the ice on a chair, and got 27.5 .this kind of thing is being performed on a daily basis in a lot of offices. I think this programe is being contrived at the cost of celebrities that can skate , com on ITV SORT THIS OUT

  31. susan says:

Gary, sorry but you were the weakest this week so you should have gone,

  32. DEBBIE says:

The right person went tonight !!!

  33. Shellie says:

Does anyone else think it was ironic that Daniella got a chair for a prop? Gave Matt a break from carrying her around! What\’s with automatically taking Danny out when at the last minute the prop got caught on Frankie\’s skate, when last week Mikey went out and had the better required element??

  34. Ian says:

Following last week\’s surprise that a skater went and a non skater stayed in, I am even more surprised that this week the non skater got top marks. Granted the routine was fab and lovely to watch, but I wondered how Daniella would have fared with any other prop than the one she was given? Am I the only person who cynically thought that if she had a routine whereby she was sitting on her backside for all of it, that would hide the fact that she can\’t and doesn\’t skate unless she is hanging on to her partner? It was wrong on all counts that she had the marks she did, usually the judges are very quick to comment about someone\’s speed, lines, style etc. of skating – maybe they can\’t/don\’t comment because there is nothing to comment on? I agree with the comment below that she only skated twice and then she didn\’t move her feet, just got off the chair and slid along without even doing a step. Technically she skated alone even less this week than she did last week. She should have gone a while back – next week it should be her turn for sure.

  35. Louise says:

Poor daniella, must have been such hard work being pushed around on a chair. She so clearly cannot skate yet gets the highest score?!? somethings not right here!!! Don\’t think i\’ve ever seen her skate without her holding onto her partner for dear life. Felt very sorry for Hayley as she was not given a routine that is up to her standards, she can clearly do more than what she was given. fix, I think so!!! Poor Danny, should have been Daniella and Gary in skate off. Oh and Daniella, why not try skating next and maybe go totally crazy and do some skating by yourself.

  36. tricia says:

Thought it was really unfair to eliminate Danny when it was Frankie\’s fault. But disagree about Daniella – thought she skated well.

  37. gillian says:

Really annoyed about tonight, can\’t stand either Daniella or Kieron yet the judges seem hell bent on keeping them in! Emma Bunton should climb out of Daniella\’s rear end and keep her mouth shut – she can\’t skate or dance so why is she even there except to cheer on her \’pals\’?No way should Danny have gone. This \’rule\’ about it\’s all about the dance off is rubbish as it suits when they want it to be.Daniella and Kieron are not good skaters and I\’m getting sick of seeing their smug faces every week. Guaranteed Gary will go next and he CAN skate.

  38. PAIGE says:

I think Gary should off gone out this week & people vote 4 the wrong ones to stay in!!!!!!!!!!

  39. raymond says:

Can Daniella skate? I have not seen her so much as skate unassisted across the width of the ice yet!! Come on judges you are suppose to be judging on skating ability not acting skills. Danny was easily the best skater – me thinks the final looks better with 2 girls and two boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. james says:

hayley is by far the best skater in the competition if she doesn,t win then it,s the public that is to blame not the judges. they vote for who they like and not who is best.

  41. Brian says:

I was very disapointed with the judges scores last night anyone even me who can\’t skate can sit on a chair and be pushed round the ice as for skating I hink Hayley is the far better skater so how can the judges justify giving Daniella more points the Hayley? I agree with Raymond regarding Daniella and also the comment about skating skills. What was Karen thinking about sacing Danny with the amount of mistakes made in the skate off?

  42. shirley says:

I thought i was watching \’DANCING\’ on ice ????? What can you say….Daniella just sat on that chair and was pushed around..fair play her acting skills played th part well…but…are we judging ACTING on ice or skating??? Judges have made it clear from the beginning that they wanted Daniella in the final. Daniella should of gone last week!!! Danny is far the better skater!!!! Well i for sure will not watch the show any more!!!!

  43. Zoe says:

Danny should not have been in the bottom two Gary should have, and Gary should have gone, not sure why the public keep letting him scrape through!!!

  44. robert says:

I just hope in the Semi finals that they have to do a solo skate then as the title of the program is "Dancing on ice" then we will see who dances the best, not hanging onto their partner all the time, Daniella should have gone a long time ago

  45. Andy says:

I admit I`m bios but I did think Haley was better than the marks the judges gave her. Atlease she skated and did not sit in a chair for most of the performance…I though it was about skating….but like SCD you have to take it on the chin…Haley to win no doubt about it….. no competion as such….

  46. jan says:

hasn\’t anybody voting in this contest realised that Daniella is always hanging on to her partner or on this weeks programme \’the chair\’ – can she skate by herself? come on Jason whats holding your comments back?

  47. Melibu says:

I agree with several of the comments on here. So far, Daniella hasn\’t proven to me that she can skate unassisted. She hardly skated on Sunday and yet none of the judges have picked up on this! There is some major bias going on . . . .!

  48. Jean says:

Gary Lucy should have been in the bottom two. Also I think Daniella\’s routine didn\’t have enough actual skating in it, sitting on a chair is not the same as skating !!! I think that Emma is biased towards Daniella as i believe they went to stage stage school together, judges should be totally inpartial.

  49. Hayley says:

I agree that Daniella needs to skate more… hopefully next week she will put her entertainment skills to more use. Loved Keiron\’s performance though. I thought his scoop up of her on the microphone was lovely… lol. Go Hayley!

  50. amy says:

danny left the show last night cause he lost hes hat no big deal i agree gary lucy shouuld have gone go hayley tammendon 5 6s last week she desurves to win and i recon she will lol from Amy

  51. maureen says:

amazing how daniella can be judged for sitting on a chair,it is disgusting, a new judging panel shoild be sought immediately.mg durham

  52. Brenda says:

cannot see how daniella can go through with the highest marks for her skating when she did virtually NO skating during the act. even when she was in contact with the ice, she was being pulled along by her partner. all of the work was being done by her partner. blinkered judging?bm

  53. Denise says:

Really disappointed with the sickly sweet \’Raindrops keep falling on my head\’ choice of music for Hayley. Umbrella by Rihanna would have given her more oomph to skate to and she would have nailed it yet again!

  54. fleet says:

Who cares who does what on this rubbish ?

  55. Unknown says:

Really poor offering from Hayley, not her fault as she does not do her own Choreography. Is this because other people are jealous and there is talk of a \’fix\’? Danielle by comparison was given top place and although the act was very good, how much skating did she actually do! Give Hayley something to show just how good she is, she has it in droves, look at last week!!

  56. Debbie says:

So what was Daniella supposed to do with the chair, its not exactly like she could pick it up like a hat, umbrella, cane or microphone stand.
